It’s finally over the football has finished. So here is my last World Cup sewalong blog. I’ve not done as much sewing as I would have liked to this week as I’ve been doing the samples for the Extreme Pattern Drafting course which starts in a couple of weeks. I had great fun with basic block patterns sellotape & blue tack . It is amazing what extremes you can take the pattern too. See picture.
This is the latest new course & I can’t wait to teach it. But what did I manage to sew this week? Well, I raided my lingerie stash again. I found a beautiful lavender fabric which was very girly so I did make this bra & knickers set. I’m re-drafting my basic bra pattern so this is a sample of the latest changes. It does now fit very well so I can change the style to any bra I want.
I have to keep the lingerie fabric stash seperate from the normal fabric so it doesn’t look like I have too much fabric! I also started a dress for my sister (I know she’s had more clothes out of this sewalong than I have). I didn’t get very far but at least I got the neckline done.
I think the sewing whilst the World Cup was on was a good idea. The football wasn’t such a drag & it seemed to pass by quite quickly. I did manage to use up some fabric, about three pieces came out of my stash. I’m really pleased that I got the Linton tweed suit finished as that has been lying around for far too long. In fact I’m so pleased I’m going to have to treat myself.
Tomorrow I’m expecting a delivery just for me. What have you bought I hear you cry? 3.5mtrs of Cashmere coating which was an absolute bargain! Roll on the coat making course in October so I can demonstrate on a real coat just for me. Is there a bigger fabricaholic in the country?
