A date for you to put in your diary, is Friday 13th March. I’m having an Open day here at English Couture. I will have the shop open from 10am – 4pm. Nothing unusual about that I hear you say. Well this one is going to be a bit more special than most as I’ve invited John Buckland to be here with me. He sells the most fantastic tailoring cloth. I have been buying from him for years now. Those of you who have been to my courses recently may have seen me wearing a brown pin stripe suit. That is one of John’s fabrics. It is a wool & mohair mix. As you can see from the photo I also have quite a lot of his fabric in my stash!! I will get around to making it up one day & in the meantime I can always go & stroke it whenever I like!!! You thought you were the only one who did that, didn’t you.
Anyway John will be bringing his van down to the shop on the 13th. He will be here from 11am – 2pm. His fabric is not cheap & you do have to buy whatever he has on the piece (usually a suit length 3-4mtrs) He doesn’t take card payments so you will either have to write a cheque or have cash to hand. His stock is worth having a look at if you want quality tailoring cloth.
Of course when you have bought your fabric you can come in to the shop for advice on linings, interlinings & trimmings. We have just had some beautiful linings in the shop so they will be perfect. We have just taken delivery of some fantastic satins as well as a light weight suiting fabric. So it is worth coming along to see our current stock. I will of course have tea, coffee & home made cake on offer. So I’m hoping as many of you as possible will make the trip to see us. I look forward to welcoming you then.
