Day Two At the NEC 2016

Day two of the exhibition over, today was busier than yesterday and it was lovely to meet so many new people interested in sewing and learning new techniques.

I have done a lot of talking today (nothing unusual I can hear a lot of you saying) therefore I am slightly behind with my challenge.

First thing this morning I was trying to get ahead on the challenge by joining the lining and got snapped and posted onto facebook, those of you who know me will know I hate having my photo taken so unusually you get to see me rather than my work.

On the challenge front, today was pockets day probably the most challenging part as I have not made this type of pocket since leaving tailoring, so I was making it up as I went along. I also decided to line and pipe the pockets just to complicate matters.

 Part pocket

I think the pockets have turned out even big enough to house all my rubbish, especially when I go down to Welford Road to watch the Leicester Tigers.

Finished Pocket

This year’s show has plenty of ideas for all for all levels of sewing. The costumes from Far from the Madding crowd are on display. I love the black morning dress worn by Carey Mulligan in the film, it is absolutely stunning. We have now seen the costumes before the film, I must make time to watch the film either on DVD or Sky. Something else to put on my too do list.

Well I look forward to seeing those of you who are at the show tomorrow, don’t forget to pop by the stand and say hello. Just hoping my voice will last out until the end of the show!!
