Day 1 NEC 2018

Well, here we are again at the Sewing for Pleasure exhibition at the NEC. At last we have a photograph of the stand, Wendy insisted on taking it first thing before I trashed the stand! Those of you that know me would understand that. All our goodies to get us through the four days are stashed under the table.

It was nice to see so many of you today, the lingerie challenge is underway the, total so far is 1 pair of knickers and 1 bra, finished & half a bra under construction.

I am trying out a new fabric for the second bra to see if we will be having it in the shop. At this stage I’m not sure it is the best fabric to make a bra with, I will wear the bra and test drive it to see if it is worth stocking.

There seems to be a lot of fabric stands at the show this year which is very tempting, Wendy is threatening to put blinkers on me when I leave the stand. Although apart from answering the call of nature I haven’t left the stand. It has been really busy. It’s fantastic that so many people are interested in the courses.

The other thing which has been selling well are the point presser & clappers. My carpenter who makes them only flew in from holiday on Sunday evening and I had to beg him to make me some more as we had completely sold out in the shop. At the rate we are selling them, I will be speaking to him again on Monday to make some more.

We are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible tomorrow. If you are at the show don’t forget to come and see us on stand B16.
