Two days to be introduced to Speed Tailoring. You will learn about & test our special interfacings. Which are all available in the shop. How to cut & apply them properly without bubbling. I will show how to cut & use a floating chest piece. A great chest reinforcement to use with any weight of cloth. Once all the interfacings are in place we will then start with the makeup of the jacket. The four stages of the collar application will be worked through so all students get this correctly. No more lopsided collars. Once the collar is in place I will show how to put in a sleeve using selvedge organza as a stay tape for the placement of the sleeve. This is also perfect for squashing the fullness of the sleeve out of the way, meaning that when you sew the sleeve in to the armhole it’s like sewing two flat pieces together. I will then demonstrate how to make a sleeve wrap & where to position a shoulder pad correctly. Tips will be given as we go along for pressing & clipping seams correctly & how to use the variety of pressing equipment available. Everyone will leave this courses with half a jacket sample so you can make your jackets at home with the confidence of knowing that you have a three dimensional reference sample there if you get stuck. This course is a must for anyone who hasn’t tried tailoring or is hoping to improve their tailoring skills.
All course materials are included in the price.
