‘True’ Couture Corselette.
Want a closer look inside special occasion wear! then join your tutor Michelle Pye on this fantastic workshop. ‘The True Couture Corselette’ created both by Terry Fox & Michelle. A technique now in great demand as we see trends move into fluid evening & bridal designs. This technique has been devised by studying gowns of the true greats in couture, such as Balanciaga, Dior, Balmain & can you believe Norman Hartnell’s design “Flowers of France for H.M. The Queen.
The workshop has been divided into two days, The Cut & The Finish.
‘True’ Couture Corselette, Day 1 .

This is a wonderful opportunity to see the transition from standard block to secondary block for close fitted dresses onto the Contoured block suitable for bras, basques & corselettes. Michelle will also explain the change in design to suit all styles of dresses plus procedure for planning for boning placement & underwires.
‘True’ Couture Corselette, Day 2.
An inspirational day where you will see traditional style & techniques re-worked to suit modern day trends. The workshop will include tips for cutting & making a beautifully boned & underwired corselette. The essential foundation for attachment of under-pinnings & supporting fabulously fitted gowns.
Michelle will offer ‘for & against’ advice of specialist materials for example elastics & power nets, boning techniques including spirals & choice of fastenings such as hook & eyes placements or zips.
