Winter Coat Making is a five day course for you to come along & make a Winter/Raincoat. The choice of pattern is entirely yours. You make a toille & I will fit it on the first day. Then show you how to create a perfect Winter/Raincoat using the fusible interfacings exclusive to English Couture Company.
Techniques will include any design features your coat requires including pockets, lapels, collars (fur if needed) cuff plackets & hand worked buttonholes.
You will need to provide your own fabrics & purchase the interfacings from us to complete your coat. Having a beautiful coat is a luxury, once had you will never want to be without.
Our workshops are run from our workroom above the English Couture Company shop in the beautiful village of Syston in Leicestershire. The room is light & airy & will take up to 8 students. We have Janome Memory craft 6600 machine for all our students. This means you don’t have to bring your machine with you. There are also overlockers available if needed. We have a good supply of the basic sewing equipment for you to use on the course.
There is always tea, coffee & biscuits provided at any time during the day. You will have to provide your own lunch. There are shops near to the studio where you can buy lunch or Ann, our friendly sandwich maker will deliver freshly made food which you can order when you get here. You can bring a packed lunch as an alternative.
The shop is available for students to buy anything they need for their projects during the day. You are very welcome to shop after the course finishes.
All our full day courses start at 10am & finish at around 4pm. Due to the comprehensive knowledge & personalised tuition operated throughout all the workshops, they can sometimes over run.
