Couture Suit Day II – Techniques From the World’s most Famous Couturiers
July 2 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm£95
Couture Suit Day II is a fantastic day covering a wonderful collection of clever, but easy to apply techniques that can be worked on every day garments. These include steaming, stretching and professionally pressing using sample fabrics. You will ease out darts without stitching, ideal for checked & patterned skirts, manipulate straight stripes to bend around curved lapels and hemlines.
Next you will create a beautiful couture skirt section to include stayed vents, Paris binding, lined Dior pleats and weighted hems. Adding a sumptuous lined waistband with a clever trick for hidden fastenings and hanging loops that don’t hang.
Then finally blocked and bagged through lining creates a lined, interlined and bound seam edge, all in one, see it to believe it !! The ideal choice for skirts & trousers.
A wonderful insight for dressmakers of all standards.
All course materials are included in the price.
Our workshops are run from our workroom above the English Couture Company shop in the beautiful village of Syston in Leicestershire. The room is light & airy & will take up to 8 students. We have Janome Memory craft 6600 machine for all our students. This means you don’t have to bring your machine with you. There are also overlockers available if needed. We have a good supply of the basic sewing equipment for you to use on the course.
There is always tea, coffee & biscuits provided at any time during the day. You will have to provide your own lunch. There are shops near to the studio where you can buy lunch or Ann, our friendly sandwich maker will deliver freshly made food which you can order when you get here. You can bring a packed lunch as an alternative.
The shop is available for students to buy anything they need for their projects during the day. You are very welcome to shop after the course finishes.
All our full day courses start at 10am & finish at around 4pm. Due to the comprehensive knowledge & personalised tuition operated throughout all the workshops, they can sometimes over run.
