Extreme Pattern Drafting
July 14 @ 10:00 am - July 16 @ 4:00 pm£285
Extreme Pattern Drafting is a different way of making patterns to fit you. No need to start with a blank piece of paper. The pattern companies have already done the boring bit for you. So you take their basic block & make it up. We do all the alterations for a personal fit. Once we have this master pattern it’s time to have some fun. Designing your own patterns is a doddle when you can simply draw the pattern design straight on to your toille & then cut the pattern from it. I’ll show you how to make all the pieces including seam & ease allowances. If you have avoided making your own patterns because of all the maths & calculations then this is the method just for you. I will be showing you how to make panels, cowl necklines, pleats & draped fronts to fire your imagination. You will go home with a master pattern to fit you personally, & the knowledge to create any pattern you can think of.
All course materials are included in the price of this course.
You will need to make up the basic block pattern for the start of the course.
Our workshops are run from our workroom above the English Couture Company shop in the beautiful village of Syston in Leicestershire. The room is light & airy & will take up to 8 students. We have Janome Memory craft 6600 machine for all our students. This means you don’t have to bring your machine with you. There are also overlockers available if needed. We have a good supply of the basic sewing equipment for you to use on the course.
There is always tea, coffee & biscuits provided at any time during the day. You will have to provide your own lunch. There are shops near to the studio where you can buy lunch or Ann, our friendly sandwich maker will deliver freshly made food which you can order when you get here. You can bring a packed lunch as an alternative.
The shop is available for students to buy anything they need for their projects during the day. You are very welcome to shop after the course finishes.
All our full day courses start at 10am & finish at around 4pm. Due to the comprehensive knowledge & personalised tuition operated throughout all the workshops, they can sometimes over run.
